Overview
The Nikon SMZ745 / SMZ745T is a versatile stereo (dissecting) microscope designed to meet the demanding needs of both industrial and biomedical research. Built around Nikon’s proven Greenough optical system, it delivers a wide magnification range from low to high power (up to 300×), enabling detailed observation from broad overviews to fine-structure inspection. The 7.5× zoom ratio (0.67×–5× zoom) combined with a long 115 mm working distance offers flexibility and space — ideal for manipulation, sample handling, or imaging tasks.
Thanks to a new total-reflection prism design, the SMZ745 series provides bright, high-contrast images across the zoom range. Its robust construction includes protective design elements — an air-tight (for SMZ745), anti-fungal, and anti-static internal coating — making it suitable even under challenging environmental conditions (e.g., high humidity or presence of dust/oil). The SMZ745T variant adds a built-in C-mount camera port, making it convenient for digital imaging or documentation without requiring extension or modification. All these features make the SMZ745 / SMZ745T a dependable workhorse for routine inspection, failure analysis, materials research, quality control, and other demanding microscopy applications.
